Please Report What You See!
It is critical that we all take on the responsibility of keeping our neighbors safe by reporting suspicious activity. This means you! You do not need to be confident that a crime is occurring or even about to occur. If it looks like something is not right, tell someone. Report it to the Non-Emergency Police number, to the Block Watch email, or another one of the tools below.
New Haven Police Non-Emergency
203-946-6316
How to report: the Police need to have accurate information as quickly as possible about suspicious activity or a crime in progress (call 911 for events in progress). Give your name and identify yourself as a member of the block watch. Describe the event in as brief a manner as possible: where, when, how, and who. Tell if the crime is in progress or if it has already occurred. Describe the suspect: sex, race, age, height, weight, hair color, clothing, accent, beard or mustache, and distinctive characteristics or clothing. Describe the vehicle if one was involved: color, make, model, year, license plate, special markings, dents, which way did it go?
SeeClickFix: Wooster Square Watch Area Once you are on the Wooster Square area, click “follow Wooster Square” and you will begin to receive alerts on happenings in our neighborhood. You will get daily emails, so if this is too much for you, you can customize what you receive by using key words, like “muggings” or “burglary,” whatever area is of the highest concern for you.
One of the greatest benefits to SeeClickFix.com is the ability to get things done. At a recent meeting, several neighbors shared stories of issues that were resolved because so many New Haven residents voted on. When an issue gets a lot of votes, it gets a lot of press and it gets the attention of those who have the ability to fix it.
